How to chose a battery for your laptop

At present the LAPTOP has replaced the desk computer,as it is compact, portable and mobile. You can take it aboard an airplane, on a yacht or elsewhere and keep working etc. The only disadvantage is that its battery requires re-charging. Having been used for a few hours, the battery gets low and should be re-charged for further usage.

Laptop developers have not designed a laptop yet which can be exploited 24/7. still, several significant steps have been made to increase battery's life. There are 3 main kinds of laptop batteries distinguished.Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) batteries were the first batteries to be re-charged. They did not cost much and had a high output. Still, they were heavy and are not used nowadays any more.

Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) laptop batteries are unsuitable for highly advanced laptops of today. Their output is higher if compared to NiCd batteries. More than that, they are believed to be safer and cheaper. The only disadvantage is the so-called memory effect they have. If not discharged completely, the NiMH battery will remember it and will put out less power than it can do.Lithium Ion (LiON) batteries are generally installed in laptops of the new generation. They are lighter comparing with NiCd and NiMH batteries and have no memory effect. Still, LiON batteries are quite expensive.

Actually the price for a battery depends on how many hours you can keep your laptop working. Thus, it chiefly depends on purposes you use your laptop for. Those who travel extensively, need an extended energy source. If you want to replace your laptop battery, make sure it is compatible with your laptop make, despite the fact that lots of laptop batteries now are compatible with all models. Afterwards consider two main ratings on it: Volts and Milliamps. The voltage is to be within 10% of the original battery voltage.

When buying a battery, always seek the one with the biggest Milliamps figure. An external laptop battery is attached to a laptop through an AC adapter plug that consists of an adaptor, a cord plus 13 other connectors. When you buy an AC adaptor, ensure that it will suit the current output and voltage. This information is normally placed on labels of a laptop and on the original adapter. The character 'V' stands for voltage and 'A' or 'mA' - current output. The voltage figure is to be within 10% of your original adapter voltage. The Amps figure can be higher but should not be lower in comparison with the original current output.Insure that the tip dimentions of an AC adapter and the form of a battery you have selected are identical to the original ones.It goes without saying that any device should be exploited properly. Laptop energy devices are no exception. Store and exploit them in the right way and they will serve you longer.
