Yaesu FT-450D Overview
The Yaesu FT-450D Transceiver is a great entry level hf radio with exceptional customer reviews. It is compact in size however everything is still very accessible and easy to operate. The FT-450D has a very nice, quiet RX and the addition of DSP makes it a pleasure to operate. The digital readout is large and easy to read while the TX whacks out a very strong 100 watts of RF power. As with all Yaesu radio’s the speech processor is a delight to use and when coupled to a Yaesu MD-100A8X mic the audio reports are unbeatable. A great low budget HF rig with some great features.

Very good little radio
I purchased one secondhand and so far it has performed amazingly. Very good little receiver and the TX audio is great hooked to my Yaesu MD-100 mic.
Great entry level rig
The FT450D is perhaps the best entry level radio on the market. It is robust, compact and has a brilliant RX. I prefer the later FT450D as it has the backlit knobs and DSP built in. Certainly a nice little radio at a budget price too.
Big performance on a small budget
The Yaesu FT-450D represents great value as an entry level rig. Great receiver, easy to use and compact size. Great rig for the beginner as well as the avid user. 5 star performance all the way !
